2 macs and a linux on a LAN

[root at kohler /etc] cat sysconfig/network
NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=kohler
FORWARD_IPV4=yes
GATEWAYDEV=                   (there is nothing there)
GATEWAY=                            (also empty)

I think I am beginning to see a pattern here.......
