Yes - what video chipset and what sound chipset are used?  See my
previous email rant, these are usually the only things that matter.  Get
the name of the laptop and check it out on linux-laptops.net for those
two items compatibility.

On the not having a CD-ROM and all the external jazz, I personally
wouldn't waste my money, unless you're getting this thing for almost
next to free. That laptop sounds almost like a 'Dell Latitude P166' I
used to have, and the screen was so bad I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
