- From a quick glance of the chain of events.  I would gather you may have gtk2 
installed, but you may need to install gtk2-devel and all of its 
dependencies.... atk-devel, glibc2-devel, pango-devel, or whatever.  You need 
the development packages to compile gpa.

I have noted the spec file on gpa is an old one and may or may not work on the 
rpm build without some tweaking.  I compiled from source and installed 
instead...

Solve the gremlins one by one.....
