printer problem...stumped

I assume this will be similar to RedHat....
What are the contents of the cups/backend directory??
Usually found in /usr/lib/cups/backend  or some such.

Make sure you have a sym link smb to /usr/bin/smbspool in the backend 
directory.

ln -s /usr/bin/smbspool /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb

Increase the log level to debug or debug2 for your cups server and see if you 
get a better hint.  Also check your samba server logs to see if and why the 
connection is failing.
