so i want to build and install a new kernel from source for my laptop, but i
would much rather build it on the faster desktop machine and then install it
on the laptop. how would i go about doing this?

*note: i tried compiling on the desktop, and then just moving the directory
over to the laptop, but unfortunately i compiled in a shared NFS directory
called /mnt/export , so when i tried to do 'make install' on the laptop make
complained it didn't know where /mnt/export was, and i'm not sure how i
should have fixed this.

augie.
