as an ssu student and long time ksun listener i've seen the
detrimental effects ksun's dependence on live365 have caused. live365
is subject to black-outs, and when live365 is down ksun is down.
inevitably when live365 goes off line for good, ksun will be left out
in the cold.

i've stated publicly before in the "SSU Star" that ksun should get
away from live365 and do their streaming in house. such a solution
would give ksun full control, finacially and otherwise. this also
leads to my next point...

from what i understand the university has gobbs of bandwidth. dustin
would know better, but i think multiple T3's or something else
obscene. if ksun takes their streaming in house they shouldn't have a
problem with bandwidth.

ksun should approach the CS department at SSU and ask for help
implementing such an in house solution. the department can then offer
the project up as an elective or senior project. students _will_ work
for units, and this won't tax ksun's modest budget.
