[NBLUG/talk] Samba running slow...

This just doesn't feel like it is on the Linux side.... I would go to the
Windoze box and check the properties of the interface, make sure the
Connection Type is set to Full Duplex, not Auto Detect.

Seems I remember something about doze IP stack and dropping packets with
Samba, which forces the linux machine to keep resending packets because it
does not recieve an ACK back.

A way to find out what is happening on the wire would be to use Ethereal or
tcpdump on the linux box, set it on eth0. I think windoze has a Windump or
something... Have one running then drag and drop that 50M file or whatever
and analyze the traffic after the transfer.

I am sure you could google it. I know I remember this was an issue.
