Similar to mine.  I am running RH9 with Mozilla 1.4 and j2re1.4.2 ... bleeding 
a little...

Use the plugin in the ns610-gcc32 directory as RH9 uses gcc 3.2.2.

ln -s /usr/java/j2re1.4.2/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so 
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so
