Okay, Steve - I give up...

I tried fooling with postscript files (as I said in an earlier
follow-up), but I realize now that the problem I was experiencing was
due to some foul-up with .ps files themselves, not necessarily
ImageMagick. 

Just trying to view a .ps file with gv or ggv or kghostview caused a
problem and I was unable to view the document.  If I converted the .ps
to .pdf (via ps2pdf, I think), I could read the doc with xpdf.  Go
figure. 

I'm not sure if this is a Fedora Core 2 problem, or what.
