FWIW, I did not switch from Debian (Testing at the time, with KDE 3.x from
external sources) to Ubuntu until they officially supported KDE and began
releasing Kubuntu.

Really, it makes me wonder what I have on this laptop now.
It started with Ubuntu, which is GNOME.  But now has Kubuntu, which is KDE.
But my old Kubuntu laptop was KDE from the start, with no (or not much)
GNOME stuff on it.  So I think my new laptop is more Kgubuntu or something ;)
