True, the setup when running the command from that link is not so easy. The
specific syntax of the setup commands change from one distro version to
another.

First log out of your X session. Then login on a kernel virtual terminal,
stop your gdm X login manager then run the command from the link as root.
Finally move the file from /root/ to /etc/X11/ while renaming it
appropriately. Rebooting will ensure everything is still working OK
*before* tweaking things. Be sure to keep a backup somewhere so this
cumbersome process is not necessary again.
