USB mouse Debian 3

I installed Woody last night and am having a time of it getting USB
support in X.  I know I forgot to add the usb kernel modules from install
setup.  Is there a quick way to download and install them without going
back out to kernel module setup and coming back in..... short of
recompiling the kernel..

Is there a mouse config utility similar to RH's mouseconfig?

I made the machine a dual boot RH7.3 and Deb3 using grub as my boot
loader.  Works peachy.
