Kyle:
I had actually posted a follow up yesterday, but it never showed up.
 I'm forced to live in <shudder> windows </shudder>, and it feels like I
'm camped out on somebody's dirty, uncomfortable couch, living out of a
backpack because I can't stay in my own house. I can't find any thing,
and I have no idea why that post never showed up. I can't even tell
time over here! The windows clock is totally whacked (it says its 9:51
pm, but it's really only 1:50 pm, thursday) .

As you can read below, I tried your 1st and 2nd suggestions; I will try
the 3rd one tonight. I'll let you all know what RH says. I sent them
some more info this morning, hopefully I will hear some more from them
this evening.  Stay tuned!

Here's that post:

~~~ repost of lost message from some time wednesday  ~~~
Hey:
First off, thanks for the help last night at the meeting.  It's
nice to get personlized service like that!.  Not much to report,
except to follow up on a couple of the suggestions.
I tried forcing the ISP's into resolv.conf while dialed in; no
luck.  I also got the numbers used by the modem connection on the
windows side and checked them against the ones used on the linux
side.  They are a match.  argh.
Do I need to consider doing a a re-intall? I did the 'custom'
upgrade, picking and choosing what packages to load, because I'm
so smart.   Have I made a fatal blunder?
I'm getting dizzy from having to reboot from windows to linux to
windows to linux, etc.  I have a report in with RedHat and I'll
see what they have to say. I would arleady know by now, except I
responded to an email the other day instead of logging my response
on their 'convienient' web support page and I had to resend it today.
I'll let you know if they come up with anything useful.
