So yesterday I bought a (super cool) zaurus 5500.

I got the 128 meg sd card and I also got the wireless card from netgear.

It's pretty cool stuff.

I have been able to get online via the wifi but I swear that I cannot
get my laptop to talk to the device.

I recompiled the kernel like this said
()http://docs.zaurus.com/lc_generic.shtml()

However it's still not working right.

This is a snippet from /var/log/messages:

At this point I have gotten the usb0 device up ()
_[root at eris:/etc/hotplug/usb] [Tue May 06] [05:42 AM]_
$ ifconfig usb0
usb0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 40:00:00:00:FF:04
          inet addr:192.168.129.1  Bcast:192.168.129.255

          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
          RX bytes:1301 (1.2 KiB)  TX bytes:4512 (4.4 KiB)

But still it's not working

I can ping the zaurus (I can't install the terminal to ping back because
of this).

But I cannot get the thing to sync to my box (or even use my laptop as a
masq box).

I installed qtopiadesktop as a deb after having alien muck it into a deb
but that seems to work ok.

I am so tired at this point I don't even know what to do.
Argh.

6am and no sleep make zaurus no syncy.

Anyway.

I have decided that http://docs.zaurus.com/lc_generic.shtml is useless
as it doesn't seem to think anything other than what they say will ever
happen.

<grin>

Any ideas?
