I dunno about that, but I know that many good Linux distros do run on
PowerPC. :)

Subject: [NBLUG/talk] Disabling the window manager in GNOME 2?

I have nearly figured out how to run GNOME 2.4 on a Macintosh using
Apple X11. However, Apple X11 tries to manage windows itself, and
strange things seem to happen if another desktop environment tries to
start its own window manager (for example, the mouse focus becomes stuck
on one window, although keyboard focus can be changed as usual).

Is there an easy way to prevent GNOME from starting a window manager
when it starts up?
