Hello,

I have spoke to Kyle Rankin who stated I could post the following to your
listserv.

We are holding a Software Freedom Day event at Mendocino College September
10th from 9:00am - 5:00pm. We are holding a general session in the morning,
and breakout sessions in the afternoon. Kyle will be a featured presenter
on Open Source, and we are working on securing another from your excellent
group.

What I am looking for are people experienced in the topics we have on our
agenda to lead the discussions. If you have a particular expertise in a
given subject and would like to lead a discussion on a breakout session that
is not on our agenda, I would be happy to hear from you. We are targeting
the beginner and intermediate user, and we are trying to have one beginner
and intermediate discussion per session (I think you will understand when
you see the Agenda). We have a classroom for lecture type discussions, and
a computer lab for hands on training. The sessions can be either on Linux
Open Source software, or Windows Open Source software. The computer lab is
running Microsoft XP, so you would have to use a LiveCD distribution to show
linux.

Visit www.opensourceacademia.org <http://www.opensourceacademia.org/> for
an agenda and flyer, and please feel free to email me if you have any
questions or would like to present. I have had the honor of attending your
NBLUG on several occasions and very impressed with the quality of attendees.

Thank you!
