Booting from USB? (was Re: [NBLUG/talk] An different kind of initrd)

Well, I thought I would report positively on this.

Hardware - Lexar 512M Jumpdrive 
Linux Distro - Damn Small Linux, http://www.damnsmalllinux.org
Read the Docs and the Forums
For reference I used - Boot KNOPPIX from an USB Memory Stick  - 
http://rz-obrian.rz.uni-karlsruhe.de/knoppix-usb/

I successfully booted both Dell Latitude D400 and Inspiron 5100 after setting 
the BIOS to boot from USB Mass Storage.

Do it the Debian way by utilizing 3-4 hours of your time and your own 
jumpdrive or purchase a jump drive from damnsmalllinux.org fully loaded for 
50 frogskins.  You make the call.
