If possible (heck, it's going to happen anyway...),
you might manually reboot ten minutes before the next
predicted reboot.  Once back up, if it reboots on
time, you know it's clock based, if the log shows a
reboot an hour + 36 seconds after it comes back up,
it's timer based.  Not much to go on, but it is
additional info...  

Also, check root's own chrontab (sudo crontab
-l)...and, do you have any UPS software running?
