[NBLUG/talk] Recommendations for a wireless router?

If I'm reading this thread correctly:

1. Most people recommend either a Linksys WRT54G or an SMC 7004BR
(more votes for the WRT).

2. Some higher-end Linksys routers also have built-in support for VPN
and/or DynDNS (is this independent of OpenWRT, Tomato, or DD-WRT?).
Presumably if I opt for a router with built-in VPN support, I need to
figure out how I'm going to set up my end of the VPN before purchasing
it.

3. NX is faster than VNC, except when sharing the screen with a local
user (which is probably how I'd be using it most of the time since I
can usually troubleshoot non-PEBKAC problems from the command line).

4. Before relying on a router's DynDNS support, I should make sure it
updates a minimum of once a month, even if the IP address doesn't
change during that time. (Not a big deal; I can install a DynDNS
client on their PC if I have to.)

One thing that bugs me, however, is that my first few searches for WRT
routers all turn up routers that support 802.11b and 802.11g, but none
of them appear to support 802.11n. Is there a reason for that?
