[NBLUG/talk] Which Linux distribution do you use and why?

Hi Mike,
It's an Asus Eee 4G Surf netbook that, as far as I know, came with Ubuntu installed from the source.  I traded some stuff for it from a computer repair shop, and I think it was new when I got it many years ago...When I tried to log on, everything seemed OK, but it stayed "pending" and never connected.
I'm not all that skilled at computer science anymore, so it might be that I'll have to wait when I return to the USA in six months to deal with it...Thanks for the suggestions.

Theoretically yes. What version of ebook is it and where did you get the first Ubuntu image that wasn't working in the first place? Did you install it while conneted to the internet through your network card the first time? Have you looked for a forum regarding your hardware specifically? I know configuring network devices can be a daunting task sometimes, specifically when windows was the original OS. Try another distribution also to see if it has the correct drivers for your wireless card. I would look to Fedora, Suse, or maybe CentOS. Hope this helps.
